CalFresh households will receive an increased monthly benefit amount starting on October 1, 2021.
What to expect:
The average benefit increase will be $12-16 per person per month. The new monthly minimum is $20. No action is required.
Why the change?
Benefits were increased by 15% due to the pandemic, but this increase ends on September 30, 2021. On October 1, 2021, benefit amounts will increase again by 21%.
